The Anaheim Storm, men's professional indoor lacrosse team and a member of the National Lacrosse League, plays 16 games per season and fields some of the most well-known lacrosse players in the US and Canada. Playing out of the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California, the Storm was the first professional team in southern California where the sport of lacrosse was just starting to take off.

Business Challenge

The Storm needed an updated look and a new start for California. Originally based in New Jersey, the Storm moved to Anaheim to "start-over" and lead southern California into the lacrosse revolution. In addition, the team needed an administrative structure, a marketing and sales plan, as well as a player communication program.

e5 Solution

e5 put together a comprehensive marketing and communications program for the Storm. An entire graphical redesign was undertaken to give the team a new look, including the team logo and colors. Branding was essential in the re-launching of the team and all new collateral and design work needed to be provided. From game day programs, team and fan newsletters, media guides, team calendars, advertising, arena signage, to merchandising and jersey design, e5 provided the excitement the Storm needed.

The Impact

The Storm took southern California by "STORM". As a result of promotions and advertising, publicity events, and camps and clinics all set up and managed by e5, the Storm made a name for themselves in southern California and impacted youth lacrosse throughout the entire area. Their new vibrant colors, collateral materials and merchandising efforts attracted fans and advertisers, increasing the team's profile and awareness and appreciation for the sport of lacrosse.
